NaturChem is hiring a Turf Manager for the North Carolina location!

The Turf Manager oversees the operation and management of turfgrass maintenance operations for customers across the North Carolina territory. This position reports to our Greenville, North Carolina location.
Supervising the planning, maintenance, and scheduling of service at customer sites;
Overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment used and the purchasing of all products and services;
Rendering professional advice, opinions, assistance and services to the customer, as required;
Participating in all master planning meetings.
The turf manager typically reports directly to the General Manager. He/she works directly with the customer while supervising field employees.

In addition, the Turf Manager may assume the following responsibilities:
Interviews, hires, trains, directs and supervises a staff of employees for the purpose of forecasted revenue. He/she has the authority to evaluate, discipline, and terminate employment of subordinates;
Keeps accurate and complete records on staff, inventory, weather data, maintenance procedures, chemical applications, etc.;
Plans maintenance and project work to achieve the agreed-upon maintenance standards and master plan to comply with all requirements, and oversees the training, scheduling and deploying of personnel to accomplish the work in compliance with all safety, best practices, and local, state, and federal guidelines;
Develops and implements plans to reduce impacts on the environment including storm water management, waste management and erosion control; and improve the overall sustainability of the facilities;
Manages equipment fleet in compliance with DOT and/or company guidelines;
Specifies, purchases (or leases) equipment and necessary supplies/materials required under the guidance of the General Manager;
Manages inventory and oversees the preventive equipment maintenance programs;
Approves all expenditures and exercises cost control measures to keep operating expenses in line with the approved budgets;
Communicates regularly with other members of the local and corporate management team to discuss activities, goals, plans and user input;
· Applicants should have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in similar work in the commercial, industrial, or residential turf industry;
· Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or similar agriculture programs are highly encouraged to apply;
Advanced knowledge of agronomy and environmental turfgrass management practices including pest/disease/weed management; an understanding of soil chemistry; a working knowledge of turfgrass maintenance principles, practices and methods;
Proficient administrative and executive ability, especially in terms of problem solving and decision making;
Excellent oral and written communications skills;
Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations
Participation in continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, web-based training courses, field days and trade shows;
Requires current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator in categories including Turf & Ornamental (OTPS).
$40,000-65,000 per year depending on experience
